Kirklyn “Kirk” Berry is a dynamic speaker and the celebrated author of “5 Powerful Tips For Motivating Youth” and “90 Minutes For 90 Days.” Kirk is recognized as a leading expert in the field of Fatherhood around the country.
Kirk founded KB Enterprise LLC (www.kirkberry.com) in 2009, a youth advocacy firm dedicated to forging academic and recreational campaigns that engage, inspire, and motivate youth. Kirk has been invited to speak at service organizations and academic institutions on how to effectively engage youth. Through his captivating speaking engagements, Kirk urges communities to uplift this generations youth by expanding their limits and placing the utmost importance on academic performance. His life’s goal is to teach youth that difficult experiences can be overcome and are the foundation for building a stronger, better, and more satisfying future.
Kirk has his degree in Business Management from The State University Of New York at Buffalo and resides in the Philadelphia area with his wife and two children.
Justin Fishman is the Co-founder of the Courtyard Mentor Network and the Vice President of Operations and Programming for the KB Foundation. Justin is a United States Navy Veteran and a Lieutenant (O3) in the US Navy Reserves. Previously, Justin was a Director at Shelbourne Capital, a Radnor, PA based private equity commercial real estate firm, as well as Vice President/Investments for Stifel Financial Corp in its Conshohocken, PA office. Justin was the lead financial literacy workshop facilitator for Project D.A.D, a federally granted program with a mission to help non-custodial fathers and families in Philadelphia.
In addition, Justin led the growth and expansion of Summer at Courtyard, a recreational camp free of cost for children from low income families. He graduated, with honors, from George Washington University with a BBA and subsequently earned an MBA from University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Justin currently lives with his wife, Rachel, their three children, and their new dog, Teddy, in the Queen Village Section of Philadelphia. He is an elected executive board member of the Queen Village Neighbors Association.
Rachel Fishman is the Co-Founder and Program Manager of the Courtyard Mentor Network. Over the last decade, Rachel has focused on raising her twin daughters and son, while providing ad hoc support to LJ events, a prominent wedding planning company in Philadelphia. During the pandemic she launched Rae & Co., a jewelry line benefiting No Kid Hungry. She currently serves on the board of Women’s Philanthropy of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
Before moving to Philadelphia with her husband, Rachel did program administration and coordinated events at the University of Michigan, Tauber Institute for Global Operations, as well as spent six years in the fashion industry in buying and merchant training at Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York. Rachel graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Rachel currently lives with her husband, Justin, their three children, and their new dog, Teddy, in the Queen Village Section of Philadelphia.
Meet Our Board
Chris is a Certified Project Management Professional with 13 years of experience serving as an influential liaison and project integrator for a US Government ERP implementation. Chris is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and he has maintained a Department of Defense and U.S. Government secret security clearance for more than 10 years. His core competencies include management of requirements, design, development, testing, and training for deploying and sustaining an SAP solution. He has a knack for analyzing qualitative and quantitative data which he interprets and uses to develop strategic communications for his clients. Chris is a University of Maryland graduate and his beginnings were in a management training program at Cintas Corporation. Chris has supported the KB Power Mentoring Camp and coaching of various local youth sports organizations.
Natasha is an accounting professional with an extensive background in Public Accounting. She managed an annual portfolio of 15-20 nonprofit, union and special purpose audit engagements for more than 10 years before starting her own firm, making the career shift from manager to owner. Natasha is a proud woman entrepreneur who provides finance consulting and management support to nonprofit organizations and small businesses across the Mid-Atlantic region. Natasha has a wealth of training and education, including a double major undergraduate degree, a master’s degree and a fraud examiner certification. She is a member of several women empowerment and professional organizations, where she conducts seminars and mentors business owners on good accounting practices and business ethics. She also has a local church home and an outreach community in Abington, Pennsylvania that she gives her time and support whenever possible.
Nicoles has 12 years of sales, account management, and leadership experience in non-profit and corporate relations. As a District Business Manager, she worked to bring medical breakthroughs to hospital systems across the state of PA as a leader within Pfizer’s cardiovascular division. Nicole’s joy for developing others led her to pursue a certification as a professional life coach through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) in 2021. Since then, she has helped dozens of clients redefine fulfillment in their careers, aligning to a path that works for them and not against them. She is excited to serve on this board and love’s her husband’s, Kirk Berry’s devotion to supporting youth in their community. She is also passionate about providing their own children with the opportunity and experiences that countless others have given her along her personal and professional journey. The arrival of their first son makes this goal feel even more substantial. She’s ready to work with this talented group of advisors to bring the best experience to kids all across Norristown and ultimately nationwide.
Jack of all trades, mastering one at a time, Courtney J. Clark of Elkton, MD keeps her hands busy in her community, as well as business. Owner of Court’s Citchen and C. Lark Productions, LLC., Courtney exercises her creative baking and decorating abilities as well as her musical talents to encourage others. In the community, she started Velocity Xpress Track Club for youth ages 5-18, which has been in operation since 2017 and is a board member of Friends of Cecil County Parks and Recreation. Courtney is an advocate for building up youth, and helping them to navigate their young years while teaching business at Elkton High School.
Justin Kaplan is the Director of Development with Odin Properties. In his current role he is responsible for sourcing and underwriting new deals, securing financing, and overseeing due diligence. His responsibilities extend to managing the entitlement process for new developments as well as oversight of construction budgets. Prior to joining Odin, Justin was a licensed real estate professional with MPN Realty, a Philadelphia based commercial real estate brokerage. There he was involved with over $100,000,000 of transactions. Justin spent 2 years living abroad after earning a degree in Business Administration and Industrial Organizational Psychology from California University of PA. He is also an active member and officer, Treasurer, of NAIOP Greater Philadelphia, a commercial real estate association.
Percy Lee Jones III for 11 years has served as President, Vice President, and football coach of the Norristown Youth Eagles and Norristown Bandits. As president, the Norristown youth eagles mission is to offer young athletes with a direct connection and support a positive relationship with their high school sports program, players, and coaches. As a former student athlete himself, he understands how pivotal these connections are for a young man. Mr. Jones works within the city of Norristown specifically focusing on youth between the ages of 13-21 to lower gang violence. Mr. Jones also partners within the Norristown community focusing on bringing change that helps today’s youth. He coordinates and attends social/recreational activities for the target youth which makes being a part of Mr. Berry’s KB Foundation board align with helping young men ages 11-13.
